1. Climax- consists of arranging words, clauses, or sentences in the order of increasing importance, weight, or emphasis.  

• "My brother need not be idealized, or enlarged in death beyond what he was in life; to be remembered simply as a good and decent man, who saw wrong and tried to right it, saw suffering and tried to heal it, saw war and tried to stop it.

     2. Diacope- repetition of a word or phrase after an intervening word or phrase as a method of emphasis

• "I hate to be poor, and we are degradingly poor, offensively poor, miserably poor, beastly poor."

    3. Conduplicatio-resembles anadiplosis in the repetition of a preceding word, but it repeats a key word (not just the last word) from a preceding phrase, clause, or sentence, at the beginning of the next.

• "Where have all the flowers gone?
  Long time passing.
  Where have all the flowers gone?
  Long time ago.
  Where have all the flowers gone?
  Girls have picked them every one.
  When will they ever learn?
  When will they ever learn?"

    4. Dirnimens Copulatio-mentioning a balancing or opposing fact to prevent the argument from being one-sided or unqualified.

• a"This poor girl shouldn't just tell that guy to go jump in a lake, she ought to slash all four of his car tires . . .."

    5. Distinctio- is an explicit reference to a particular meaning or to the various meanings of a word, in order to remove or prevent ambiguity.

• To make methanol for twenty-five cents a gallon is impossible; by "impossible" I mean currently beyond our technological capabilities.
